Benjamin's 2026 Kia EV4 review may leave our American listeners confused since it isn't coming the the US market, but the Canadians get to enjoy this weird looking EV and its several positives. It looks good, has pretty good range and an attractive pricetag, so whats the catch?

Then Sami reviews the 2026 Lexus TX with seven seats, and he gets to use all seven of those luxury-lined seats. The review leaves Benjamin and Sami wondering what other true three-row luxury crossovers are out there, and which ones can compete at the TX's price point. Thanks for listening!

This week the Unnamed Automotive Podcast reviews a pair of crossovers, starting with Sami's take on the 2026 Hyundai Kona. This isn't the oft-discussed EV, but a gas-powered version of the subcompact, which has Sami buzzing about its size and features. Is this among the best in its class?

Then Benjamin reviews an F-Sport version of the 2026 Lexus NX350h. Fitted with a hybrid powertrain and more aggressive styling, this Lexus also boasts a gorgeous interior and plenty of technology, but do some of those features get in the way of recommending this vehicle? Thanks for listening!

<itunes:subtitle>The Unnamed Automotive Podcast arrives this week with a pair of off-road oriented trucks. The show starts off with Benjamin's review of the performance-oriented 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor, which is a whole new look for the typically mild-mannered Ranger.

This week the Unnamed Automotive Podcast ditches its unibody for a body on frame setup as our hosts tackle a pair of off-road oriented trucks. Benjamin tests out the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor, a performance-oriented version of the midsize pickup that has dune bashing and baja racing on its ECU. Benjamin discusses where the new Ranger improves upon the old one, and whether this is the king of off-road performance mid-size trucks.

Then Sami dons his Prada sunglasses and jumps into the 2025 Lexus GX 550, a rugged off-road luxury SUV thats based on the Toyota Land Cruiser, but boasts a bigger engine and fancier appointments. This Overtrail+ model sports more ground clearance, but Sami thinks that Lexus has a lot to prove against something as tested as the Land Rover Defender. Thanks for listening!

The Unnamed Automotive Podcast arrives this week with some engaged discussions about a pair of mainstream, yet exciting vehicles. But before any reviews, Benjamin shares his notes from his recent track day, where he tagged in his beefy Cadillac CTS-V for his nimble Datsun Z. After that, Benjamin describes the 2024 Hyundai Sonata, a strong player in the contracted world of mid-sized sedans. With a new design, and reworked packaging, can the new Sonata blow away the popularity of the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry?

Then Sami talks about the 2024 Lexus RX 450h+, a PHEV version of the ever popular Lexus RX. On a long road trip, Sami had the time to experience how practical, efficient and luxurious the new plug-in RX is, but has a few issues with its approach to technology. Is it worth the nearly $20k upgrade from the entry level RX? Thanks for listening!

The mercury is dropping but the Unnamed Automotive Podcast is still blazing a trail through your ears with another great episode. Not only do our hosts ponder about how integral their friendship is to the show, they also bring up the 2023 Lexus RX 500h F Sport that Benjamin recently tested (and apparently Sami drove but didn't tell anyone about.) Always the popular choice for luxury crossover buyers this RX boasts a totally new powertrain that should make it stand out from previous generations of the vehicle. More than that, there is so much tech to discuss—but does all of that detract from a premium driving experience?

Then the guys talk about the biggest highlights, surprises and duds of this year. Thanks for listening! Don't forget to review or send us some feedback!

<itunes:subtitle>Will the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander cannibalize sales of the normal Highlander? That's what the guys talk about first this week on the Unnamed Automotive Podcast. The new Toyota may boast three usable seats, and three powertrain options, but how useful is this crossover? Then Benjamin chimes in with his experience in the 2023 Lexus RX 350h, before discussing how to tow without using your hands hands thanks to his recent test of the Cadillac Escalade with Super Cruise. Thanks for listening!</itunes:subtitle>

First up this week, Sami explains the theory behind the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander, and whether Grand is a title that is earned through service and recognition, or just one that is bestowed due to size. This new Toyota boasts three rows of seats, three different powertrains and a cool new infotainment system, but Sami points out a few concerns he has with this pricey crossover.

Then Benjamin takes a tangent to talk about the 2023 Lexus RX 350h, one of the luxury brands most popular products that has recently been redesigned. Is this the same crossover with a new look, or has Lexus introduced any new wrinkles to its best seller?

Finally, the conversation pivots to one about towing with driver assistance, as Benjamin describes his recent experience hauling his track car while piloting a Cadillac Escalade with Super Cruise. And of course, just for fun, the guys talk about some weird BMW news.

<itunes:subtitle>What's it like when an automaker actually tries compared to when an automaker is forced to make something out of compliance to laws and industry trends?? That's the discussion this week as Sami and Benjamin review the 2023 Lexus RZ450e EV and the 2023 Lexus NX450h+ PHEV. One has uninspired specs and an unnecessary steering gimmick, while the other has excellent performance and style. Can you guess which is which?</itunes:subtitle>

This week on the Unnamed Automotive Podcast, our hosts ask "What's good and what's merely adequate?" as they discuss two Lexuses...or is that Lexii? Whatever the plural, the conversation starts with the 2023 Lexus RZ450e, an all-electric crossover with the same platform as the Toyota bZ4x. With polarizing looks, uninspired specs and an unnecessary steering gimmick, our hosts have plenty to talk about, specifically regarding if Lexus put its best effort forward with its first EV.

Then the conversation shifts to the brand's first plug-in hybrid, the 2023 Lexus NX450h+, which cribs much of the mechanicals from the Toyota RAV4 Prime, and puts it all into a sexy, high-end body from Lexus. Benjamin suggests that this what it Lexus wants to actually make—rather than its boring, bland EV offerings—and has many reasons to prove his point.

<itunes:subtitle>This week on the Unnamed Automotive Podcast, you'll learn what the golden ratio is, thanks to Benjamin's tireless reporting on the 2022 Lexus LX600. Is this large luxury SUV an off-road monster, or a soft-road cruiser? Does anyone truly know for sure? Then Sami talks about his equally confusing experience in the 2022 Volvo S90 Recharge, which turns out to be a speedy, slick sedan with slow charge speeds and a limited audience.

Aren't you tired of hearing the Unnamed Automotive Podcast cover mainstream cars that you might actually see on the road? This weeks episode deals with those blahs you're feeling with a pair of niche luxury vehicles. First up Benjamin talks about the 2022 Lexus LX600, which rides on a new platform and features a fresh powertrain. But things aren't aligning properly for Ben, who isn't sure if this is really a Escalade competitor, or a Land Cruiser replacement. Sure it has the 'golden ratio,' but what does that mean when it's almost impossible to fit in the rear seat without an advanced contortionist's degree?

Sami chimes in with his own confusing thoughts on the 2022 Volvo S90 Recharge. While he's sure to mention the impressive power and torque from this speedy PHEV, don't miss his thoughts on how it charges...eventually. Our hosts also discuss the conflict of ideas going on at Volvo, and how the company has ended up delivering cars with potential but limited execution.

Benjamin drives the new 2022 Infiniti QX60 and frames his take on it by discusshing the heirarchy of luxury car brands. What is Tier 1 Luxury anyways and where does Infiniti rank? While the QX60 shares many components with the Nissan Pathfinder, the styling and effort with the details are supposed to make it stand out, so find out what Benjamin thinks after his time with the 3-row Japanese luxury SUV.

Then Sami goes on a wild discussion about three of the newest and hottest luxury crossovers on the market. The 2022 Lexus NX has a new look and touch-screen interface, but is that enough to overcome the other options in the segment? The 2022 BMW X3 has the best motor in the segment, and a familiar cabin and experience, though can feel a bit choppy at times. Finally the 2022 Genesis GV70 seems like the jack-of-all-trades, with an experience that's good enough for most.

Finally, Sami surprises Ben with a new lightning round game called "This or That." You won't want to miss it! Download, stream, rate, review, subscribe or do whatever you want to do! Thanks for listening! Arch Deluxe!

<itunes:subtitle>We're back and yes, we missed you too! To start this week off right, Benjamin shares his experience with the new 2022 Alpina B8, which is a BMW 8 Series with a dark secret. Benjamin runs through the reasons why this Alpina may be the best thing for a shopper in need of luxury and performance, before he digs into one of the weirder features in the car.

Then Sami talks about the 2022 Toyota Highlander, one of the most popular three row crossovers on the market. Hear what makes it such a darling on the road. Finally Benjamin brings up a recent road trip on the 2022 Volvo V90 Cross Country, and how it's driver assistance features failed to, well, assist. Come for the cars, stay for the horros of Benjamin's teeth!

We're back with a other jam packed episode of the Unnamed Automotive Podcast. First Benjamin shakes off the post surgery blues in a green (paint, not personality) Alpina B8. This BMW+1 brand has made a name for itself over the years but it's recently stepped up its charms. Benjamin runs down what makes it so special and why it might be the coolest new BMW on the road.

Sami then shares his thoughts on the 2022 Toyota Highlander, after his time comparing it to the Nissan Pathfinder. The Toyota always sits atop the sales charts, and Sami shares exactly why that is. The two go on a bit of a tangent about the Lexus infotainment system and how it is finally changing for the better, before Benjamin talks about the driver assistance woes of the 2022 Volvo V90 Cross Country. Then Benjamin's horrific mouth calls it a day and the two close up the podcast for another week.

Last week on UAP Sami and Benjamin agreed that the 2022 Genesis GV70 SUV is a class leader, but this week Sami is already flip-flopping on that statement. It turns out the new 2022 Lexus NX plug-in hybrid has caught his attention and he's blabbering non-stop about the new Japanese compact crossover.

The pair take a few tangents into Volvo XC40 territory, before bringing up the new 2022 Toyota Tundra and its sneaker inspired powertrain. While other truckmakers offer V8s and diesels, will Toyota survive with just a pair of V6 offerings? Does it have a chance against the hybrid Ford F-150?

Finally Benjamin shares all the details of his roadtrip experience in the refreshed 2022 Genesis G70. While he gushes about the powertrain and value, he also wonders if Genesis is ready to abandon its entry level sport sedan like much of the rest of the industry seems set to do.

Listen for all the juicy details, specifications, and banter, and please be sure to comment on or review the podcast after you listen!

The 2021 Volvo S60 T5 is a premium sedan in a world gone over almost completely to crossovers, and Sami and Benjamin get deep with just how surprising its past decade has been for a brand that few would have thought would still be in the luxury conversation so many years later.

Benjamin then startles Sami by singing the praises of the 2021 Lexus RX 450h, a hybrid SUV that would seem to be the anti-enthusiast machine—which is exactly the point, as Benjamin points out. The pair wrap things up with their thoughts on the production Jeep Grand Wagoneer as well as the cost of electricity as it informs EV buying decisions.

The 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge is the Swedish brand's very first all-electric vehicle, and the most powerful version of the XC40 SUV to date. Benjamin dives in to the good and the bad about driving this high-end EV during winter's bitter cold, and compares it against the much cheaper 2021 Kia Soul EV's performance under the same conditions. Sami gives his impressions of the aging, but still interesting 2021 Lexus NX 300 crossover before the pair answer a listener question about the best cheap-and-fun four-door first car.

The Lexus LC 500 is one of the best-looking and best-sounding luxury coupes on the market, but how does it hold up on the cold streets of Montreal? And who, exactly, would choose its 500h hybrid showroom-mate over the standard 500's V8 thunder? Benjamin drives them back-to-back to answer that question. Sami, on the other hand, spends a week driving not one, but four compact SUVs: the Volkswagen Tiguan, the Honda CR-V, the Nissan Rogue, and the Chevrolet Equinox, to see which one comes out on top. Wrapping things up, the pair discuss the Toyota Prius Prime plug-in hybrid, and specifically, how to devise a system that lets everyone around you know just how efficient you're driving. Spoiler alert: it involves the birth of a brand-new lifeform.

"You know, because, well, this is a lot of car," he says, looking me directly in the eye. A pause, and then he repeats this for a second time. "A lot of car."
